Yusuke Yonezu was born in Tokyo, the eldest of three boys. As a child he loved to draw and make toys out of paper and boxes, and later he studied design in order to assist his father’s shoe-making business. Finally his friends encouraged him to try illustrating for children. He has also illustrated Bye Bye Binky for minedition.
