Kehlenbeck, Angela

Angela Kehlenbeck born in 1959, Angela Kehlenbeck lived in Hamburg, Calcutta, and Frankfurt before she moved to Bremen, where she finished highschool. She studied psychology, ethnology, journalism, traveled through South America, and worked with a photographer, but it wasn’t until she drew a short funny story for a friend who was at hospital, and the friend suggested she make it her career, that she began illustration. In 1996, Ms. Kehlenbeck introduced her first picture book during the bookfair in Frankfurt. By chance, Michael Neugebauer saw it and agreed to publish it, and so began her promising children’s book career. Pashmina is her eighth book for children.
