Joanna Boillat was born in 1950 in Warsaw, Poland.
After graduating from the Lycée des Arts Plastiques in Warsaw, she continued her studies at ENSAD (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris).
After receiving her diploma, she worked as a colorist, graphic designer, decorator, and for more than twenty years as designer at the Pierre Cardin fashion house.
Throughout she has continued to paint, draw and exhibit her work. Since 2005 she has devoted herself entirely to illustration.
